Advantages of Crates
Cruel? Absolutely Not

There are numerous advantages of crates and how to use them to help you train your dog.

Thankfully, these advantages far outweigh two common misconceptions.

Firstly how it looks or is looked upon by others. a crate Lets be honest here, a crate looks exactly like a cage. And what do we associate with cages; keeping an animal locked up for being bad whenever we feel like and for however long we want. Wrong.

Secondly, and partially due to the first, you immediately assume that your dog is going to be very unhappy when in there. Wrong.

This may be what you think, but what your dog thinks and what you think when it comes to this are worlds apart.

Let’s just take a moment to find out why.

Firstly let’s look at it from a different viewpoint. Your dogs crate is his home, his kennel, his den and bedroom; a sanctuary. It is somewhere he can go to rest, lay down, stay, sit, or relax to escape any noise or excitement. It’s always warm in there and has a few of his favourite toys to play with.

Also, he can sleep comfortably in there if he wants as it always has a clean blanket to lie on. There is enough room for him to turn around, sit or lay down if he wants. He can’t displease you by getting into any trouble while he’s in there; he has his dog food and dog toys in there and most of all he feels safe there.

Crates are generally big enough to house puppies and bigger dogs, and play an important part in housetraining your dog and correcting dog problems and behavior such as seperation anxiety.

Doesn’t seem so bad now after all; does it!
